Wind group boots Exelon from board

Politico -- Exelon’s opposition to extending the wind production tax credit has cost the utility company its seat on the wind industry trade group’s board of directors.

The American Wind Energy Association’s board voted last week to oust Exelon from the board and from the organization, specifically because of the company’s vocal opposition to extending the PTC.
We regret that the actions of the Exelon Corp. made it necessary for the American Wind Energy Association to terminate Exelon as a member,” AWEA spokesman Peter Kelley told POLITICO.

Two-thirds of the board must vote to terminate a company’s membership in AWEA. The votes were collected electronically Thursday and Friday, and the company was informed of the decision Friday evening, Kelley said.
Exelon spokeswoman Judy Rader called the move

It's a tough hill to climb with Big Oil and Big Coal blocking every step for any challenge to their share of the American Pie. These Energy Giants have always blocked any and all threats to their absolute domination of the energy sector in our dear USA.

Glad to see Exelon bounced out by the majority of what is an industry association promoting the advancement of wind power. It is actually and honestly good for the USA.

I Don't hate wind power I just think there are better and more efficient alternatives. Subsidies are bad for everyone when we're this far in debt. But the eco-nuts around here do hate it, for those reasons. I just like putting that in there for to remind the eco-nuts that they love it one day and then despise it the next, then love it again when it fits their agenda. They won't be happy with anything.

Go with clean windpower. Extend the PTC or many wind energy jobs in this country will go away. About bird chopping: doctorindyj do you really care about birds or did you say that because you hate windpower???

No there is no silencing of dissenting opinion. If it needs subsidies to exist, then something is wrong. I don't remember anyone offering subsidies to Tesla to Create alternating current or to Ford to create his assembly lines. Did the wright brothers need tax breaks to get their plane off the ground? Was Apple offered subsidies? Microsoft? Facebook?

It's simple if I want to buy my electricity from bird chopping eyesores I will, otherwise I don't need the government or industry or the eco-nut church of green members shoving it down my throat.

Sounds like the American Wind Energy Association's board rather take free money from the government then pay their own way. They also hate anyone who is in opposition to continue to receive PTC.
