Gas prices drop
Tuesday, October 14, 2008
The Kingston Whig Standard -- Double-digit gas prices greeted drivers filling up at the pumps this holiday weekend.

The price of a litre of regular gas dipped below $1 at most stations in town Saturday, and dropped further on Sunday.

It was the first time in months that gas prices had dipped as low as they did on the holiday weekend.

The drop came on a long weekend when gas prices are known to jump.

"I didn't expect to see it under a buck," said Christina Foley.

Some motorists took advantage of the low prices and filled up over the weekend, but not everyone was confident that the sudden downturn in gas prices was going to last.

This is why in the US, we need to insure that the Drill Now, Drill often, will happen in the next congress.
We should only elect Senators and House members that promise to vote for Drilling.
Serious rumors are that Pelosi and Reed will re-invoke the drilling band right after the elections.
This will happen wether Obama is elected or not. Need to keep the pressure on congress.
If you want lower energy prices, we have to have use all sources of energy, especially the kinds that
Democrats do want us to use, like nuclear power.
Remember, Nancy Pelosi, thinks she is in office to 'save the planet,'

90.00 per barrel oil can easily be translated to 4.50 gas. Don't be lulled to sleep. We need to eliminate our oil dependency.

Only problem with lower pump prices is all the people I see racing around in their 4x4 crew cabs and SUVs... they were pretty calm at $4.85/gallon, but they have regained their aggressive attitudes now that they can fill their tanks for under $125...

We really need to conserve oil products, recycle what we can, and serious seek alternatives, especially in transportation... VERY VERY few retirees living in gated 55+ communities actually *NEED* a 4x4 crew cab pickup to drive mother to the grocery store!

If the following statement is true, and "there is no price gouging", then shouldn't we see prices half as much now as they were in July? $4.11 down to $2.06? Government should step in and force the prices to drop lower!

"The price for a barrel of crude oil on the New York Mercantile Exchange closed Friday at US$77.70, almost half the price it was in July when oil reached an all-time high of US$147 a barrel."

OPEC will need to cut production to stop the decline of oil prices. If not...crude oil will continue to drop.

Gas is still over priced...so expect gas to continue to drop.

You should expect to see gas selling around $2 a gallon in the near future.

I heard on KSL Radio this morning, that Utah has the 4th highest gas prices in the USA. But our taxes are only 7 cents higher than Oklahoma, at a dollar less per gallon there. I'd sure like to know what the refiner's margin is, and the stations' margin.

Now we can spend more inside the stations. Now owners can make more profits. High gas prices = less to spend inside.

The trend of reducing the United States of American to 3rd world status by many in our own government and, seemingly, a few of its citizens, continues unabated. There’s a more ‘descriptive’ way of phrasing the last sentence but it would probably not be acceptable on this forum. Please contact your representatives and senators and hold them accountable to their sworn oath to "protect, preserve, and defend” our constitution! That is not only our right but, our responsibility. If you’re unsure of who’s yours are you can find out quickly, as well as how to contact them, by going to the following web sites:
