The last power plant to open was in May of last year. There have been 51 power plants that became operational in California since 2000. There are currently another 15 under construction, and another 11 that are approved but in pre-construction phase. What is the status of power plants in your state? I still cannot fathom why the need exists to take this all the way to the southwest when there is so much need in the MidWest for the oil. It would seem more logical to allow the pipeline with the condition that the oil companies have to build new refineries in the North and Midwest to process at least a major portion of the oil.
