I use K&N on all of our vehicles and have for 10 years along with Amsoil which I have used for over 15 years (I am not a dealer just a fan). And yes I did see a improvement in mileage.
My K&N/Amsoil story is my 99 civic, had to replace the water pump at 149,000 miles, the valves were gold in color and super clean, my mechanic said it was the cleanest he had ever seen for a car with that may miles.

K&N lets too many super-fine particles through.

On our Honda CRV EX, as we are out of Warranty we will be replacing with WIX. We use it on our chevy trucks and last 9 months to a year. I drive in industrial area and yes we get them dirty. Wix cost more but lasts longer.

As someone with some racing background as well as in the automotive business I'll let you all in on a secret. You're OE Filters are made by Wix or Fram. Honda or for that matter any other auto manufacturer except GM and Ford depend on others for parts.

Have you ever pulled your spark plugs out? If you have they are Not HONDA PLUGS.

Just a thought for you guys.

Whichever they have at Target or Wal Mart for the lowest price. My mechanic said if you don't live in a desert or a forest, an air filter isn't something you really need to splurge on.

geoutpb,
Wix filter has better construction than OEM base on UOA. OEM only good for 6K miles

I use wix oil filter with Mobil 1 synthetic oil change every 10k miles. the last oil change I stretch it to 12K & oil analysis still say good for another 1K miles.

I changed air filter every 25-30K miles. also use WIX air filter

FYI: Wix oil filter is the same as NAPA gold oil filter.
OEM oil filter is made by Fram which is a POS!!!

matt8sj, I have heard of wix filters but have never used them. What do you like about them? I was going to try them on the next oil and filter change.
